After spending some time back at my home in Wisconsin, USA, I am back in Seoul to start teaching for the Fall semester. It's good to be back in Korea :) - Jonathan
Ms. Hong Rost, and Dr. Abel Adekola from University of Wisconsin Stout recently traveled to Seoul to establish partnership connections with several Korean Universities. We were happy to host them and do some sight-seeing around Seoul, before they continued on to meet with universities in China. - Mitchell & Jonathan
We are starting to preprare for the next camp at University of Wisconsin - Stout. We are now accepting applications for the 2012 summer camp. 1) Application: Save our application to your computer. Fill it out and e-mailing it with a passport sized photo to info@lastingbridge.com
2) Interview: After we receive the application we will e-mail you to confirm that we have received your application and set up a time when we can meet in person with you and your parents. During the interview we will get to know each other and answer any questions. By getting to know each other you can decide if this will be good experience for you.
3) Payment: When you have decided to join our camp, you can transfer the confirmation fee to our account. At that time you will be guaranteed a spot in our English camp and the travel preparations will start.
4) Passport/Visa: Traveling to the US is much easier now that Korea is in the US Visa Waiver Program (VWP). However, you still need to apply for the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). Of course, you also need a valid Korean passport. You should start appling for these documents as soon as possible.
5) Preparation Meeting: When all students have joined and the visa process is finished or in process we will have a preparation meeting. All of the students will meet with us. This will give us a chance to get to know each other and answer any remaining questions you may have about the camp. At this meeting we will also give you a in-depth packet with information to help you prepare for your trip and things that will be helpful while in America.
6) Departure: The day of the departure we will all meet together at the airport 2 hours before departure . There we will issue you your airplane tickets and make one final check that you have everything you will need.
1) 신청: 신청서를 컴퓨터에 저장해서 작성한 후 여권사진 정도의 사이즈의 사진과 함께 info@lastingbridge.com로 이메일을 보내주시면 됩니다.
2) 인터뷰: 신청서 접수된 후 접수 확인과 함께 인터뷰 날짜를 이메일로 보내드릴 것 입니다. 인터뷰하는 동안 서로에 대해서 알고 궁금한 것에 대한 질문과 대답을 하는 시간을 가질 것입니다. 인터뷰를 하면서 캠프를 참여하는 것이 좋은 경험이 될 것인지에 대해 결정하실 수 있을 것입니다.
3) 납입금: 캠프에 참여하기를 결정했다면 확정등록금을 회사 계좌로 입금하셔야 합니다. 그때부터 영어캠프 참여가 확정이 되며 여행준비가 시작될 것입니다.
4) 비자: 만약 미국 비자를 가지고 있지 않다면 비자신청을 해야 합니다. 곧 한국은 비자 없이 미국에 갈 수 있게 됩니다. 하지만 그 전까지 학생들은 캠프에 참여하기 위해 미국 visitor (B) 비자가 있어야 합니다. 그렇기 때문에 비자가 없는 학생들은 미국비자를 받을 수 있도록 되도록 빨리 캠프신청을 하는 것이 도움됩니다. Here are some other helpful links:
5) 준비모임: 준비모임: 학생들이 비자준비가 끝나고 인원이 다 모이면 우리는 준비모임을 가질 것입니다. 그때에 모든 학생들이 다 만나게 될 것입니다. 이 만남은 우리에게 서로를 알고 캠프에 대해 더 알고 싶었던 질문에 대한 답을 얻을 수 있게 될 시간이 것이며 캠프에 대한 모든 자료와 미국에 있을 때 필요한 도움이 되는 모든 자료를 받게 될 것 입니다.
6) 출발: 출발하는 날 출발2시간 전에 공항에서 만날 것입니다. 거기에서 우리는 다시 한번 모든 준비가 마무리 되었는지 마지막 체크하는 확인시간을 가질 것입니다.
